Help & getting started

Getting started

How do I set up?

Add your goal event and the time you have each week on Profile, then build your plan on the Plan page.

Do I need a watch?

No. You can record any workout yourself with time, distance and how it felt. A watch just adds detail like heart rate.

Training & recording

What does Open session guide do?

It shows the steps of today's session. It doesn't track anything — after training, tap Record workout or let Strava bring it in.

What happens if I miss a workout?

Nothing changes automatically. Mark it missed on Today, and use "What should I do now?" to ask Coach whether to move it or carry on.

Do I need heart-rate data?

No. Without it, trends rely on pace or power and your effort score, and are shown with lower confidence.

Connected data

Do I need Strava?

No. Strava saves typing by importing workouts, but everything works with workouts you record yourself.

How is my activity data used?

Only to show your history and trends, to size your plan from what you actually train, and to give Coach context. It is private to your account.

Why does History ask me to review a match?

When a workout you recorded and a Strava import look like the same session, you choose whether they count once or separately.

Plans & changes

How do I change my available days?

Go to Profile, update your days and weekly hours, then rebuild your plan. Workouts you already recorded are kept.

Go there →
What if I don't know my FTP?

Leave it empty. Bike sessions then use effort (how hard it feels) instead of watts.

Coach

Why did Coach suggest a change?

Coach looks at your check-ins, workout feedback, training load and recent trends. Each suggestion lists its reasons, and nothing changes unless you accept.

Events

What's the difference between goal, target and estimate?

Your goal is what you want to achieve. A target is the pacing plan you confirm on Race preparation. A planning estimate is only used to size the race day on your calendar — it is not a prediction.
